Saw Horse is basically what I call my music which isn't overtly electronic or classical. It should have a root in the American tradition, but sawn through, like a Horse magician sawing his Horse assistant in half. It's important that the music not be completely song-based. Great swaths of nonverbal music, noise bursts, and allusions to received ideas. Songs should develop from but transcend traditional structures.
