Sometimes I wonder if it really is the drugs that makes people like this band... the songwriting is undeniably good, and there are moments of sheer awesomeness, and I love the general principles of improvisation and the wide ranging embrace of music style from Blind Willie Johnson to Edgar Varese, but it's hard to wait through the less inspired moments for me at this point.

All this is compounded by the horrible, horrible stereo I listened to it on. Next time I'll do better, I promise.
